That’s the basic concept. You click pages, buttons, images, opt-ins, and password logins every single day. All of that activity is yours, but in many cases, others are using it too (maybe even without your permission). Logical thinking says now that so many of us are online sharing ideas, doing business, and communicating in so many ways…that you should be able to control (and maybe even capitalize on) your own profiles, activity, and online behavior. It was this fundamental concept that we at GS understood, believed in, and felt we could get behind with our products and services. So, once we agreed to work together, it was up to us to begin naming, branding, and building the foundation for the company look and feel as they started to develop their platform and products. We are pretty excited to say the least… and very happy to award our (FREE!) suite of services to this talented group of people.
The folks that came up with this concept can be read about here. They are H.O. and Meredith Maycotte, and they have launched an innovative new company called UMBEL. We suggested this as a name based on this funny looking flower. Its form is very similar to what you might see when looking at a graph of a growing and connected network of people. Once we saw it, we knew it was perfect.
UMBEL is currently in its ‘hello’ phase, and plans to reveal its mojo sometime in Q1/Q2 2011. Already staffed with talented marketers and web developers, UMBEL has taken the reigns on building their website, and GS is working on brand, environment, and campaigns that will support the broader UMBEL strategy.
We would like to congratulate team UMBEL and welcome them officially to the Guerilla Gang!
Proudly introducing Umbel, a new way to value the online you.
