Arthouse at the Jones Center creates meaningful opportunities to investigate and experience the art of our time through exhibitions, programs and commissions of new work. Everyone knows Arthouse. In fact, we have worked with them in the past. But what folks may not know is that Arthouse is undergoing a major renovation this year with their friends at world famous LTL Architects, and a fundamental shift in their approach to marketing to the creative class. They are looking to grow, and we were happy to help in that. GS founder James Moody was asked to chair their 2010 5×7 event, which is one of their most popular events, year after year. Guerilla Suit was asked to serve as the Agency for the event, creating the new environment, graphic design, social media campaign, invitations, postcards, on site signage, and online promotional branding.
With over 900 artists and 1200 unique works in 5×7 format, this event is a perfect fit for Austin’s growing creative class, and a perfect opportunity for more eyes to be on Arthouse in the exciting year of change for them. The event was a huge success. The Arthouse Executive Director had this to say about 5×7 2010: “5×7 was the biggest success ever. We think over 1,000 people attended both SPLURGE and SOCIAL – many more than ever before”. We couldn’t have done it alone. Many others contributed to the success of 5×7, including Ann Tucker of AT Studio, Courtney Graber of C3, Justin Cox of Public School, Adriane Weast (participating artist), and the one and only Elaine Garza of Giant Noise.
We are happy to serve as proud sponsors for this upcoming season at Arthouse is they open their new space, display new works, and inject new ideas into our community.
